Confirmation

It was confirmed.....we are having a little Miss Bennett Claire Collins! She weighed a whole 7oz during our visit Tuesday morning and her heart rate was 144. She was sleeping during the ultrasound and the tech asked which one of us slept with our hands above our head (that would be Chris!) because Bennett was sleeping the exact same way! I have not gained any more weight but the doctor was not at all worried! We had the blood work done to check chromosome levels and check for neural tube defects and should get those results back soon. I just finished ordering the crib bedding and Little Miss Bennett will be sleeping in style with her hot pink and green Giggles bedding. Chris and I went this morning on our way back from Greenville (more about the concert in just a bit) to register at Babies R Us....Can we say overwhelming!!!!

The Concert....was awesome....and the fans with their ripped jeans were very entertaining! Bennett will come out singing "I'm Hot, Sticky Sweet, From My Head, To My Feet, Yeah!" She will be such a Diva!

Movement????

I felt a really strange sensation about 2pm this afternoon. It was on the right side but it was sort of high up. It felt like really quick thumping or like bubbles/popcorn popping. Could it be the baby so early????

It's A Girl....Maybe!

I had some light spotting on Thursday so I called the doctor just to be on the safe side. They asked me to come in for an ultrasound. Chris met me at the doctor's office that afternoon. Thankfully everything was A. Okay! The baby was breached so the ultrasound tech was having a hard time getting a good picture. She said she was "fairly certain" it was a girl but made me promise not to go shopping until after our regular scheduled ultrasound on April 1st. I do not know which is worse, not knowing at all for the next 10 days or thinking you know and not being 100% sure! I am in agony!

Sickness In the 2nd Trimester!?!

I thought nausea and vomiting was supposed to get better after the first trimester! I got physically sick for the first time last Saturday night after the St. Patty's Day festival in five points. And I wasn't even drinking! How fair is that!?

13 Week Appointment

I had a doctor appointment this morning and Chris and I got to hear the hearbeat with the doppler. The baby's heart beat was 159 and my blood pressure was 116/60. I had gained a little over 2 pounds since my last appointment, bringing my total weight gain to about 7 pounds. Everything checked out great other than this horrible stomach virus I have had since yesterday afternoon! I am home for the day and had no idea Reading Rainbow still came on!!! Here is a picture of my beginning stages of a "baby bump". Notice my new hardwood floors in the background.

Heartburn!

I have had the worst heartburn ALL DAY today! I have eaten Tums and even drank baking soda water....YUCK! Nothing has helped. I was told by a girl at work this meant the baby would have a head full of hair but my mom begs to differ. She said she had heartburn constantly with me and I was bald until I was three! She had to tape pink bows to my scalp so people would quit refering to me as a boy! I was also told by several people at work yesterday that they could see my "pooch!"

Doctor appointment

I had a doctor appointment this morning. I was told everything was normal and healthy and I am growing just as I need to be. We also discussed the likelyhood of me re-breaking my tailbone during delivery. OUCH! For those of you who do not already know, I broke my tailbone water skiing this past Memorial Day. It was NOT a pleasant experience and one I was hoping to never experience again. Unfotunately, the doctor could not promise me it would not happen again during child birth. On a lighter note, my next appointment is scheduled for March 5th and we will hear the heartbeat again. Our "big" ultrasound appointment is scheduled for April 1st and Chris and I will get to celebrate our boy/girl news later that night at the REO Speedwagon, Def Leopard, and Stix concert in Greenville. Nothing like our little family of (soon to be three) rockin' to Pour Some Sugar On Me! I can't wait! Well, that is all for now...I have to let the guy from Florence Carpet and Tile in to measure our floors for new Hardwoods! The excitement never ends!
