Contractions

I woke up around 12:30 am Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to go the restroom (again) and had horrible pressure in my lower abdomen and back. I chalked it up to my growing belly and fought the rest of the night to go back to sleep. I went to work Wednesday and felt the same intense pressure and pain throughout the day. I again thought it was nothing more than Bennett laying on a nerve or something. I ate lunch around 12:30 and by 2:00 had not felt Bennett move (she is usually very active after I eat). I called my doctor and was told to come in immediately. By 4:00 I was in the hospital hooked up to a monitor to check her heart rate and my contractions. I had four or five within the first twenty min. of being hooked up. The doctor choose to admit me and gave me a shot of medicine to stop the contractions. I had to take this same medicine in pill form every six hours throughout the night. The contractions thankfully slowed to only three throughout the night and I was discharged at 9 am with instructions to continue taking the meds until further notice, not to stand for more than ten minuets at a time until Monday, monitor Bennett's movement (she is moving up a storm now and her heart rate was great the entire time....145) and contractions (no more than four in one hour time). I go back to the doctor Wednesday morning and can return to work Monday morning if I feel up to it. The contractions never made me dilate so let's all hope and pray the medicine does what it is supposed to do for the next couple of weeks while Bennett "bakes" a little longer!

First Baby Shower

We had our first baby shower in Greenville last Sunday afternoon. I was overwhelmed at the number of people that came and their generosity! Chris and I are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. Here is a picture of both of my grandmothers, my mom, my sister, myself, and of course Bennett!

Belly and Nursery Picture Update

So I am not a photographer.....the nursery pictures did not come out well. The star mirror has green polka dots on it and the ribbon to hang the wall letters are green with white polka dots. Everything is coming out MUCH brighter than it really is but you get the idea anyway.

30 Week Appointment and 4D Pictures!

I have gained one pound since my last visit. My BP was 126/60. Bennett's heart rate was good and everything is measuring right on target! Here are some pictures....finally!!!!!!!!

She is a Thumb Sucker!!!!

We had no luck again today....even after drinking a Red Rock and eating a Snickers! Bennett was actually sleeping almost completely face down this time. She did do a roll long enough for us to see her sucking her thumb just like her Aunt Jessica! If she is any more like my sister I am going to have my hands FULL!!!! I love you Jess! :) We will try one last time next Tuesday when I go in for my regular check up!

28 Week Appt

I had a doctor visit on the 16th. My blood pressure was 110/60 and my total weight gain is 25 pounds. Bennett's heart rate was 137. I have been swelling pretty bad on the 90-100 degree days and the doctor said she could tell a lot of my weight gain on that particular day was fluid. I had to take off my wedding ring, which I hate....I feel so naked without it! We had a 4D ultrasound done on the 16th as well but have no pictures to post because Bennett was being stubborn and covering her face with her hands AND her FEET! We did get a glimpse of her face and she has a very cute nose and plump pouty lips and chunky cheeks....we even saw her yawn and scratch her nose with her thumb! We are trying again on the 25th and hopefully will have some great pics to post then. My next doctor visit is July 1st.

Doctor Visit

I had another check up May 29th. I have gained 18 pounds total and my blood pressure was great! I passed my glucose screening(thank goodness b/c I did NOT want to drink that "stuff" again!) Bennett is moving a lot now and I can see my belly move when she kicks! We go back for our 4D and 28 week visit on June 16th! I hope we can see what she looks like!
